Please read through the following brief introduction to the composition laptop and it’s use. These are rules of general best practice.  Currently we have switched out the MOTU Traveller interface for the M-Audio FireWire 410, this is due to problems with the MOTU and it being sent off for repair.

Laptop Use Instructions:
  1. Please ALWAYS save your files onto the scratch drive. The OS drive is fairly full with the OS, Logic and other software and needs to have around 5GB of free space to run at optimum efficiency. So saving your work in the correct place will keep the laptop running at it’s best for everyone.
  2. When using the Focusrite Interface, please make sure to turn it on BEFORE starting Logic.
  3. No Sound? Try the following before contacting me:
    1. Check that the Sound interface is set correctly in Logic (Preferences/Audio). It should be set to Focusrite Pro 40
    2. Check that the Mic is plugged in correctly and phantom power is on
    3. Check levels on the interface and that the -20dB pad switches aren’t on.
