Room G39 at KCC has been updated to allow easier use as a performance space. It now has a quadrophonic speaker system and two projectors (front and side) fixed in the space (suspended above). The AV system in the room now consist of a 16 channel mixer (with the AV cabinet moved to the back of the room).

To keep the day-to-day flow of the room for teaching as similar as possible the external audio and VGA (laptop) input leads have been extended to the front of the room and you will find a cable attached on the left hand wall as well as a volume knob on the skirting to facilitate connection to the AV from the front.

Find attached the instructions for the use of this AV system. If you require the use of the in room mixer then please contact the Music Technology Technician (avsupport.music@trinitylaban.ac.uk) as this is specialised equipment that will require technical support and will be subject to availability and scheduling.

Can I use HDMI for the projectors in G39?

We have a single HDMI cable run to the front projector. This is currently in use for the DVD player, but we do intend to include connectivity for HDMI for laptops in the future. At current KCC supports VGA as it’s video connection format but this will be being reviewed in the coming years as HDMI supersedes it (hence the upwards compatibility being built into the G39 AV system).

Should you require HDMI for a specific event then please get in touch with the Music Technology Technician at avsupport.music@trinitylaban.ac.uk.

I would like to use the Mixer in G39, how do I do that?

To use the Mixer built into the G39 AV cabinet you will need permission, training and access from the Music Technology Technician. It’s specialist audio equipment and as such requires training to use. The general use AV system also runs through this desk, so anyone using the system needs to leave it as found to ensure the room AV is operating correctly.

Should you be interested in using the 12 channel live desk for an event or class then please get in touch with the Music Technology Technician (avsupport.music@trinitylaban.ac.uk or submit a ticket above) to discuss your requirements.
